Dunsville Primary School

Working as one to achieve excellence through enjoyment

Headteacher - Mrs V Wilson

Welcome to the Aquamarine class page!

Welcome to the Aquamarine class page! My name is Miss Aspinall and I am the class teacher for Aquamarine class. Aquamarine is Reception and it is also known as Foundation Stage Two (FS2). Here at Dunsville, we work closely with Amber class (Nursery) during child-initiated time within our Foundation Unit.

Miss Thomas, Mrs Shaw, Miss Atterbury,  Mrs Hall and Mrs Clarke also work with us across our foundation stage unit.

Our staff in our Foundation Unit help to support and enhance our learning opportunities as we learn through play.

Every day we are busy exploring and investigating the different areas in our classroom both inside and outside. We are outdoors in all weathers and we love to explore and create our own new environments to play in!

Here are some photographs of us enjoying our classroom!

Phonics

In Phonics, we are learning to recognise our phase 2 graphemes, we have been practising saying the phonemes and writing the graphemes in words using our robot talk!

We have been demonstrating what we have learnt by writing in our Phonics books.

Please see the phonics page for more information.

All about me!

We are learning all about us this term.

We have looked at our bodies and labelling the different body parts and then moved on to look at our families, the people in our community and where we live.

We will be drawing our own maps of our journeys to school and exploring our local area using Google street view.

We talked about the body parts that we can't see and how Doctors use X-Rays to be able to see them.

Maths

In Maths, we have been having a go at matching and sorting objects using different sorting rules.

We then moved on to sorting using different sorting rules, for example, sorting all of the counters by colour or sorting all of the objects by size.

 Important information
