Geography
Dunsville Primary uses the National Curriculum 2014 and EYFS 2020 as a basis for its teaching. Geography is taught using the Primary Knowledge Curriculum (PKC). There are 6 Geography themes taught across each academic year in KS2 and 3 Geography themes in KS1. A Geography Long Term Plan is in place to accommodate the mixed age classes and to ensure the children’s geographical learning is appropriate and sequential. Geographical fieldwork is incorporated into units of work. Each unit of geography has 6 or more progressive lesson plans, knowledge organisers with focus vocabulary to be understood and applied in context and a multiple choice quiz to assess key knowledge at the end of each unit.
